Recurring dreams that reveal more
You know those dreams that keep eroccuring? This one, I've had before, a few years ago, but I didn't know that there'd be more to it.
It started with me living near a fwe friends of mine, Jane, Brandie, and Chris I shall call them in this. Brandie and Chris were out of the house, at someplace that i don't know of yet, so it was only jane and I at her house. We were in the living room, which had some sky lights in the vaulted ceiling. The ceiling for the living room itself was vaulted at about a 70 degree angle, and ended about 25 to 30 feet in the air. About 10 to 15 feet up were the sky lights. In contrast to the living room, the kithcen's ceiling was about 9 feet high and flat. The resulting wall had a large stenograph on it about 8 feet tall by 10 feet wide, and the HVAC registers in the wall flanked it. The sunlight that came through the skylights shined onto an offwhite or beige wall and highlighted the brilliant blue accents on the wall.
Off into the kitchen, it was a very open area, with an average sized island in the middle of it, but it was a little dark in there. From what I saw, it was a nicely appointed kitchen, but it probably just didn't have the lights on, and suprizingly, I couldn't turn them on even though this was a dream still. The backspask was a smooth stone or granite and the cabinets were a cool dark chocolate color. The countertops on the other hand were slate I'm guessing. They didn't look like any countertop i've ever seen before, but that'sthe best of an educated guess that I could make. To the right of where I walked in, there was a blue louvered door that loked like it went to a closet or something.
When I opened it, it wasn't a closet at all. Instead it was a moderately sized bathroom about 6 feet wide by 10 feet long. The lutrene as far as I could see, had its own small alcove at the end, with a window beside it that extended the length of the wall. I was able to see myself int he mirror and saw that I had a haircut and looked a bit older. I'm not exactly sure on how much older I was, but it wasn't that much older. As i looked around the bathroom, I saw another louvered door that I realized was a linen closet with shelves for more towels. Above the tub was two heat lamps which looked very nice to sit under.
Through another louvered door and I was in a hallway. And not going into the hallway like one normally would. I was at the end of a hallway that went straight in front of me. I saw immediately to my right that there were some stairs , so I went up those instead of going directly in front of me. It was strange, because when I got to the top of the stairs, it looked like a studio of some kind for me. I had no idea that I had moved in with Jane, but when I looked closer, I found that there were some clothes that looked like they belonged to my boyfriend, but I had no idea how they got there. I only saw a few shirts that I didn't know if they wre mine or not, but everything else looked like it was mine. I saw that I had bought a new for 2011 24inch iMac, but the sound system on it was of my own design, with a yamaha reciever and what looked like some custom speaker grilles for some $25 speakers that I had gotten from Walmart a few months ago. I sat there and listened to some music that was on it, and found that Lady Gaga's I'm On The Edge With You was on there, so I left it on repeat.
Now, I'm not sure if this is a sign or not, but after about 25 minutes, one of the speakrs started smoking and finally caught fire, so I had to put that out and I just threw the speakers themselves into the trash after everything was extinguished, but I kept the reciever because it was about $350. After that I looked at the clock and instinctively went to the closet and got out a blazer and slacks for something. It looked very nice, but i had no idea what I was doing now.
About 20 minutes later, Jane looked me over and said that I looked terrific, doing some last minute adjustments to the outfit before I was able to be sent off. I went to my truck, which ironically looks a lot like a certain white Chevrolet Tahoe that my family currently has, and I hopped in and started the engine. While I was exiting the neighborhood, somehow, the right front tire failed and I slid down a hill, rolling it about 8 or 9 times. After the truck stopped, I looked around and saw that I was on a bed of cut logs about 3 feet long, but the truck only had a few dings and dents in it. Then, I felt something begin to give way under me and scrambled for the rear tailgate. As I was crawling out, the truck slid off the logs, and onto a road under us that I didn't know existed. As it slid down, it crushed it's nose into the tarmac and landed on its tires.
I looked down at it and scrambled up the hill again to change into a spare outfit and get what I thought was my car, and this time it turned out it was (I forgot how I got the Tahoe, that part wasn't in this particular dream). I got in the house through the back, and changed quickly, grabbing my keys out of the pocket and started a red and tan 2004 Subaru Outback Sport. This time, I was able to make it across town to my boyfriend's apartment complex. I'll call him Ashton.
I ran up the stairs to his apartment, and when I knocked at the door, his mother opened it. I looked at her with a big smile and a loud "hello" and asked where Ashton was. She let me in and directed me to his room and went back to sit at the breakfast nook and talk on the phone to her friends. I knocked on the door to ashton's room, who promtly opened it and gasped the same time I did. I was stunned at how well dressed he was. I looked at him and laughed, asking him what happened. He told me that I scared him, dressed like I was a rich hitman. I laughed harder and took him by the waist and kissed him deeply, telling him that I missed him. He stared at me with a smile on his face and blushed like he always did when I held him. I looked him over and complimented him on how he looked. As we walked out of the hallway, his mother looked at us and started joking around with us. We just laughed and went along with it after I realized she was working on her third pina colada.
We bid her goodnight and walked down the stiars to the car, where I unlocked the doors and opened his for him, then I went ot my side and slid into the seat. I sat there for a second and looked at Ashton, smiling a little and kissing him again, whispering into his ear, "You look beautiful tonight." He blushed again and giggled, kissing me back and holding onto my hand as I shifted the car into reverse. When we got to our destination, his hand had moved to my thigh. I didn't mind though, We pulled off into a parking stall and I got out again to open the door for him. It was a large building with a lit façade taht looked like a 1950's theatre. But after we went through the doors, we saw taht it was an Opera House. We slipped out of the stream of theatre goers and went to the restrooms, which looked stunning.
Even the bathrooms oozed class here. The door was black laquer and was slightly heavy to those that were used to smaller doors. Once we were inside, it looked like a hotel's reception area more than a common restroom. The walls were a rough cut stone with shiney black partitions drilled into them to mark where the lutrenes were. On the wall farthest from the door, there was a hearth with a vased plant in it. It was a nice touch to the entire place, and lightened it up a little. At the top of the walls was a long strip of accent lighting for the entire room, which showed off the stone ceiling with every peak and crater. The mirrirs even were bordered with a thick black laquered wood on it, but the carpet looked straight out of the '70s with it's straight cut and glossy orange color.
After we finished, we went to the door and ran into one of my friends from highschool. After we chatted it up in the doorway for about 10 minuites or so, we exchanged contact information and walked back to the theatre. The way there was familiar to me, but just in a new skin. The doors were black, the walls white, the lighting on the walls a sort of dim yellowish color, that added to the effect. Every 6 feet or so, the floor stepped up to another platform about 5 inches taller than the last. Finally we found our seats in the fifth row and watched a good friend of mine perform.
Once the show was over, we went to dinner and went to Jane's house again. I really can't remember this part that well.
We undressed eachother and went to the japanese style bath house that I had built in the back yard. After bathing for about 2 hours, we dried off and walked back to the house, taking in all the sounds and sights of night and looked up at the moon. It was large and round, so much so that it looked like it was much closer than it really was. After we got inside, we both laid on my bed andheld eachother close, happy to me in eachothers' arms and happy that we could do this.
As I drifted off to sleep in the dream I started waking up in my bed. Once I got my bearings, I wrote it all down in a notebook for me to put up here.
